Guns of the Old West

Much has been written and documented about the two most famous gun makers of the Old West period, Colt and Winchester, but there were others.

At Old West Antiques we currently have for sale a Winchester Model "73" .44-40 manufactured in 1873. You just can't get any closer to the Old West then with a "73", after all, it did Win-the-West.

We also have many other guns from that period. Now Colt is the premier revolver manufacturer but many other existed. If you can afford an "Original" Colt by all means make the purchase. It will always be a good investment. If you can't afford the Colt you may want to consider one of the many other manufacturers.

If we can agree that Colt and Winchester are the top tier guns to Collect then what is the second tier ? I like the hideouts, the Gamblers and Soiled Doves guns. A great history exists with such firearms and it seems logical they are the next boom in Old West firearms.

Guns like The Protector, Minneapolis Fire Arms Company that produced the Palm Pistol or the Smith & Wesson bottom break Model 5. Don't forget Remington's Smoot New Model 1.

We have many others and if I have tweaked your interest stop by and look over the entire collection. Remember also that we offer a 100% guarantee, if you are not happy send it back no questions asked.

We at Old West Antiques enjoy talking about collectibles and in particular Old West items so don't hesitate to email us or give us a call.

p.s. keep in mind that Old West Antiques would love to talk to you about listing your items.

p.s.s. we can also provide a seasoned group of Old West Reenactors for your upcoming events
