Rare Gambling Equipment

Wow, I just listed some of the rarest and hardest to find gambling equipment made and used during the "Old West" period. I'm talking Faro Casekeepers, a Hazard Horn, a Card Trimmer, a very rare card Corner Trimmer, a traveling Keno Goose, Dice Drops, Poker Chips and a Rare complete Kepplinger Card Holdout.

Whiskey in the Old West, part II

My research into Whiskeys of the Old West period continues...

I have learned from Oscar Getz, in his book, "Whiskey, An American Pictorial History" that Whiskey, with an "e" is used by American and Irish distillers and Whisky, no "e" is used by Scots and Canadians.

First produced in the Highlands of Scotland in the 1400's, whisky was known as Usquebaugh, which means - water of life. I'll drink to that!!!

I have also found three more makers to add to my initial list: Evan Williams/1783, Rebel Yell/1849 and Southern Comfort/1874.

Stop by Old West Antiques and look over the selection of Saloon items.
